Introduction to SDLC

An important element in SUTRAC’s efforts to meet the growing demands and expectations of its customers, is the capability to improve the skills and performance of both its own and its customers’ staff.

To achieve this SUTRAC has established a Development and Learning Centre with facilities at its two main locations – Kilo 8 outside Khartoum and Wad Medani.

Training and development continues to be a key success factor, an honorable responsibility toward the business community and employees and this is well articulated in SUTRAC’s mission.

To support SUTRAC’s continuous effort to offer unrivalled and comprehensive Product and Customer service, by providing customized, quality training to both our internal and external customers, helping them to achieve higher performance levels and anticipate future skills requirements.

Working together, building a learning organization together to develop a highly efficient workforce that fulfill SUTRAC’s needs and exceed customers’ expectations.

The training premises at both Kilo 8 and Wad Medani are equipped to Caterpillar international standards with all modern instructional aids, supported by SUTRAC’s facilities and workshops, and offering both classroom-based theoretical and hands-on practical training.

The Centre is staffed by a team of full-time Technical Instructors : experienced, well-trained, dynamic, eager to give and to learn, and who are the backbone of the Centre.

A wide range of training options is offered : Courses, Lectures, Seminars, Discussion groups, etc.

Networking and pooling resources create outsourcing possibilities on certain related topics and soft-skills aspects that are essential in meeting evolving business requirements.

Our Approach
At the foundation is the concept of Continuous Improvement, supported by Caterpillar’s Training Guidelines and Materials. A strong Teamwork spirit is actively encouraged using an Open Communication and Feedback methodology.

Training Effectiveness
SDLC endeavours to facilitate efficiency and improved performance by aiming at better quality in optimising time and cost variables. The effectiveness of the training conducted in the Centre is measured by frequent testing and confirmation that instruction has been assimilated through written and practical tests, many leading eventually to formal certification.
